SHUTTER SPEED
The purpose of this assignment is to provide a visual understanding of how to use shutter speed to either blur or freeze action.
SET 1. BLURRING AND FREEZING MOVEMENT
Use a normal to moderate long lens. Set your shooting mode to Shutter Priority. 
Find either a spinning object. Focus on the spinning object. 
Set your shutter speed and allow the in-camera meter to set the aperture to match for the correct exposure. 

1/15 s (f 4.5 ISO 160)

1/30 s (f 4.5 ISO 320)

1/60 s (f 4.5 ISO 640)

1/125 s (f 4.5 ISO 800)

1/250 s (f 4.5 ISO 800)

1/500 s (f 4.5 ISO 800)

SET 2. PANNING
The ability to freeze subject motion while blurring the background.
Watch them through your viewfinder and follow with your camera through the viewfinder.
As they move in front of your pre-chosen background, release the shutter, and continue following through with the camera.

Reflection
It was my first time panning and It was a really good and big experience. It had a very interesting effect.
The first few attempts all failed but finally I was able to get the panning picture about 1 out of 10 times. I had to think about the movement in advance and prepare the point of focus.
Also, I need to be prepared for the speed of the object.
